1. The New York Power Authority will be conducting installation of the Lake Erie Ice Boom beginning 09 December 2024 starting from the Katherine Street maintenance yard downbound Buffalo River to the Outer Harbor Breakwall. 2. The Tugboats JONCAIRE II and BREAKER II will be in process of towing a total of twenty-four sections of ice boom from the Buffalo River to the Outer Harbor staging point. Each section is 500-feet long. 3. Installation work is expected to last up to five or six days. 4. All mariners are advised to take caution when transiting the area with caution.
